What is slowing your Mac right now, and what really fixes it.
This week
Where your space went, and how long the rest will last.
It speaks up only when it matters
Diskwise watches quietly from the menu bar. When something really slows your Mac, you get one alert with a button that fixes it.
- An app you aren't using keeps the processor busy for 10 minutes.
- Memory stays tight for 10 minutes and your Mac starts writing it to the disk.
- Free space drops under 10 GB, and again under 5 GB.
System Settings is keeping the processor busy in the background. It has nothing to save.
Careful by design
A cleaner can do real damage, so Diskwise follows five rules everywhere. No account, no tracking: the only thing it ever sends is your licence key.
What it found on the Mac it was built on
Diskwise was built on a Mac that kept filling up. This is what it found there in one week.
System Settings' storage panel kept them busy for two and a half hours, open in the background.
Leftover Wrangler processes ran for 16 hours after the app that started them quit.
Five apps in one folder each carried the same 368 packages. One shared copy would take 618 MB.

Browsers don't let any website see your disk, apps or memory, even with permission. The scan has to run in the app, on your Mac.
No. Nothing is removed until you review the list and click the button. Caches and build folders are deleted because they come back on their own. Anything else goes to the Trash.
No. Your files, scans and history never leave your Mac, and there is no account or analytics. The only thing Diskwise sends is your licence key, when it checks it.
Access to Documents, Desktop and Downloads, to find build folders and big downloads. Notifications, for alerts. And control of Finder, only when you click Empty Trash.
In the background it checks once a minute and uses about 0.2% of one processor core, measured on the Mac it was built on. With its window open it updates every 3 seconds, which costs more while you watch. A disk scan runs when you open the window, at most once every 10 minutes.
